April update

Where did the past month go? We had our 2nd inauguration at the end of March with the new communal kitchen. Again Pedro from Chiapas joined us as well as Marti from the US who was with us in Chiapas last summer.

Then the first week of April we visited Chiapas at the invitation of Pedro who arranged homestays and church visits in three indigenous communities in the northern part of the state. We had never visited this region are were warmly greeted as we heard different perspectives about the conflict in Chiapas than we have heard in our JEM visits around San Cristobal. Our last stop was with Pastor Mario in Palenque who is starting a community center very similar to what we are starting in Puebla. We made a good connection and hope to stay in touch.
