DAMOS GRACIAS A DIOS POR EL INICIO DE UN NUEVO ANO EN EL CUAL CONFIAMOS QUE DIOS SEGUIRA SU OBRA EN NUESTRO AMADO MEXICO.
HEMOS ESTADO MUY OCUPADOS EN MUCHAS SALIDAS A LOS PUEBLOS Y VIAJES QUE NOS HA SIDO MUY DIFICIL ESCRIBIR. PERO QUEREMOS QUE DARLES A CONOCER EL TRABAJO QUE HEMOS REALIZADO EN ESTOS ULTIMOS MESES.

GRACIAS A DIOS UNA VEZ QUE LAS LLUVIAS PARARON PUDIMOS HACER VARIOS VIAJES A LA SIERRA DE IXTAYUTLA. EL ANO PASADO LA GENTE PASO POR UN TIEMPO CRITICO DE HAMBRE. DESESPERADAMENTE NOS PEDIAN AYUDA, Y NOS PEDIAN MAIZ. LA GENTE DEL CAMPO DEPENDE BASICAMENTE DEL MAIZ PARA PODER SUBSISTIR, ALGUNOS DE ELLOS A VECES SOLO COMEN TORTILLA CON SAL. DIOS SUPLIO EN UNA MANERA PRECIOSA A TRAVES DE VARIOS HERMANOS DE DIFERENTES PARTES DE LOS EU, QUIENES DIERON OFRENDAS DE AMOR CON LAS CUALES SE PUDO COMPRAR UNA BUENA DISPENSA, QUE NO SOLUCIONO EL PROBLEMA DE LA ESCASEZ, PERO QUE AYUDO MUCHISIMO A MUCHOS.
COMO SIEMPRE, TUVIMOS MUCHOS PACIENTES, AUN MAS QUE EN OTRAS OCASIONES, DEBIDO AL CONFLICTO DE OAXACA, YA QUE LA MAYORIA DE LOS MEDICOS DEL SECTOR SALUD SE UNIERON AL PARO Y A LAS MARCHAS. ESTO ORIGINO QUE MUCHA GENTE LLEGARA A NUESTRAS CLINICAS MOVILES Y TAMBIEN A LA CLINICA BASE EN ROCA BLANCA. GRACIAS A DIOS, A FINES DEL ANO PASADO LLEGO UN JOVEN MEDICO CRISTIANO DE PUERTO ESCONDIDO A APOYARNOS, LO CUAL HA SIDO UNA MUY GRANDE BENDICION. A PARTIR DE ESTE ANO, EL HA EMPEZADO A TRABAJAR DE TIEMPO COMPLETO EN LA CLINICA, LO CUAL NOS PERMITIRA HACER 2 EQUIPOS QUE PODAMOS ESTAR SALIENDO MAS A LAS COMUNIDADES.

EL FESTIVAL VICTORIA, QUE ES UNA CELEBRACION A JESUCRISTO CON TODAS LAS IGLESIAS ALREDEDOR, LA MAYORIA DE GENTE INDIGENA, UNA VEZ MAS FUE VICTORIOSA. NOSOTROS COMO MINISTERIO MEDICO PARTICIPAMOS OFRECIENDO CONSULTAS MEDICAS A TODO EL QUE LOS NECESITARA, DE ENTRE LOS MAS DE 3 000 ASISTENTES AL FESTIVAL, MAS DE 500 FUERON ATENDIDOS MEDICAMENTE POR NOSOTROS, ENTRE ELLOS MUCHOS QUE NO HABIAN RECIBIDO A JESUS EN SU CORAZON Y QUE EN ESE MOMENTO TOMARON LA DECISION DE SEGUIRLE. LA ULTIMA NOCHE DEL FESTIVAL HUBO UN ACCIDENTE CERCA DE ROCA BLANCA. A LA CLINICA LLEGARON TODOS, A ALGUNOS LOS TUVIMOS QUE MANDAR AL HOSPITAL, PERO A LA MAYORIA LOS ATENDIMOS NOSOTROS. COMO CAYERON EN UNA NOPALERA, LA MAYORIA DE ELLOS TENIAN MUCHAS ESPINAS. ALGUNOS TENIAN HASTA EN LOS OJOS Y LA BOCA, ERA MUY DOLOROSO PARA ELLOS. ASI QUE YA SE IMAGINARAN CUAN OCUPADOS ESTUVIMOS TRATANDO DE SACAR LAS ESPINAS UNA POR UNA, CON NUESTRAS PINZITAS.

EN ESTE MES DE ENERO HEMOS HECHO UN VIAJE MISIONERO A UN PUEBLO QUE SE LLAMA COPALA, EN DONDE RECOGIMOS UNA GRAN COSECHA. LA MAYORIA DE LOS QUE LLEGARON A CONSULTA NO CONOCIAN AL SENOR. NOS GOZAMOS MUCHO DE VER CON QUE HAMBRE ELLOS RECIBIERON LA PALABRA DE VERDAD, MUCHOS DE ELLOS, LLORANDO RECIBIERON A CRISTO.

HAY MUCHOS PLANES MAS, MUCHOS VIAJES PENDIENTES, MUCHOS GRUPOS LLEGANDO. ENTRE ELLOS ALGUNOS DE USTEDES QUE TANTO NOS HAN APOYADO. QUE NUESTRO PODEROSO DIOS NOS DE LA GRACIA Y LAS FUERZAS PARA CONTINUAR HACIENDO SU OBRA EN ESTE LUGAR.

Dear Friends and fellow workers for the Kingdom,
We give thanks to God for a new year in which we trust that God Hill continue using us in His work in our beloved Mexico. We have been very busy the past weeks with many visits to mountain villages but we want to finally let you know some of what we have been privileged to do.

Thanks be to God that the rains have stopped in the Ixtayutla region where the end of last year many of the people were suffering a very critical food shortage. They were asking us for help to give them corn because they are able to live just by eating corn tortillas with salt. Some people gave donations that allowed us to buy sacks of corn for them. We also have seen an increase in patients at our clinics because of the unrest in Oaxaca where many government doctors joined the teachers in a general strike calling for the resignation of the governor. This month a young doctor from Oaxaca has joined our team. He is a member of a local church in Puerto Escondido and is a gifted worship leader as well. We also have a nurse with us for few months and a older couple (both doctors) with us until March. This allows us to have two medical teams: one for the Base clinic and another for visits to mountain villages.
Festival Victoria is an annual celebration of Jesús Christ together with manyo f the churches from the mountains. This year was again a wonderful success for us as a medical staff as we were able to attend to more than 500 patients in three days. Many of whom also came to know Jesus as a result of our concern for them. The last night of the Festival their was a terrible accident on the highway just outside the Base. 16 indigenous were thrown from a truck when it blew out a tire and we made the clinic into an emergency room. We had to send 4 patients to nearby hospitals. The worst part was that many landed in a bunch of cactus bushes and it was tedious work trying to pick out the spines with tweezers. Thanks be to God all are on the road to recovery now.

Last week we helped a local church in Puerto Escondido do a medical campaign in the village of Copala where they had started a mission church some years earlier. Most of the 150 patients who came were not Christians but we rejoiced that many were hungry to hear about God.


We have plans for many more trips in the comino months with various groups, among whom are some of you who have helped us for years. May our powerful continue to give us the grace and strength in the work that He has for us. May God continue to guide you and supply all your needs with His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
