Oct. update

Dear Friends,

If you've been following this blog over the past months you know the incredible changes that have come to our lives. Dan participated as best he could in a 40 day fast in May and June to try to discern where God was leading us to minister as a family. We have spent the past three months now in Angelica's hometown in Puebla preparing our lives as best we could for the arrival of our son. In a few weeks we will depart for the US primarily to participate in the joy of the wedding of Dan's dad. However, we also are praying that we will be able to see many of you to share how we think God is leading us and request your prayers for guidance.

If you have been curious about the title of this blog and looked at the websites of the two organizations listed next to our names then you have an idea of the shape of our future ministry in Mexico. We are being led through many open doors to a more active partnership with Jubilee Economics Ministries. We hope that this added ministry ally can bolster our work with Rocablanca and the work of the clinic through its "Centro de Ayuda Corban A.C."

It seems to be a marriage of the divine vocations of "prophet and priest" that we are being called into. Can the priestly work that Rocablanca has been doing over the years so effectively of calling the church to worship, teaching the Word of God and bringing healing to wounded people be joined with the prophetic vocation of naming the injustices around us, calling for repentance and living an alternative. Or, maybe it is better said in this recent email:

While it may be annoying to some of us, prophets are those persistent
individuals who challenge assumptions that lead the church astray. Prophets
oppose theological, moral, and logical imprecision! They are the surgeons who
draw attention to deadly growths within the Body of Christ that, left
unattended, would drain the church of its spiritual health and power.
While the prophet’s voice is necessary, it is never sufficient. Once the prophet has
offered the challenge—once the growth is recognized—a priest is also needed to
help seek God’s healing hand in removing it! While prophets often provide
clarity to a problem, priests bring us to God for rescue! As members of Christ’s
body, each of us are to serve as prophet and as priest!

(Mimi Haddad, Christians for Biblical Equality)

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf and we look forward to seeing many of you in the coming months. Dios les bendiga, Dan, Angelica and Jacob Daniel

We look forward to seeing the 3 of you! Let us know before you leave so we can get you directions. It is pretty much a straight shot from I-30, about 3 hours from Dallas.
