Nov./Dec. update

Dear Friends,

We have been so blessed this past month during our US visit. The wedding of Dan's dad was extraordinary and we feel so happy to have been a part. We attended the "Global Medical Missions" conf. in Louisville, KY and were inspired by numerous speakers including one mother who shared her heart about "medicine, motherhood and missions." We have enjoyed wonderful fellowship with our spiritual families at two churches as well as with Dan's biological family especially around tables, not least of which being at Thanksgiving.

We have spent this month praying and seeking counsel from others about our future ministry and this letter is to fill you in on what we have discerned so far. We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives as a family of three doing ministry together and bringing together the different passions of both Angelica and Dan. That is, the ministry of offering compassion to hurting people and doing justice on behalf of the poor and oppressed. The board of the Centro de Ayuda Corban A.C. based at Rocablanca has given an initial green light to begin the process for this expanded vision. We will meet together in mid-Dec. to put flesh to the vision.

For the next four months the three of us will stay in Angelica's hometown in Puebla to initiate a center that will include a small cafe, library, food depository, clothes closet and warehouse for products from indigenous communities. After Laura's wedding in April, we will return to the Base in Oaxaca to help cover the clinic activities there until July. In Aug. we will be hosting JEM delegations in Chiapas before returning to Puebla to continue the work in our new center. We will be depending on your prayers during this coming year as we continue to listen to God's voice in the development of this expanded vision.

Would you also please prayerfully consider partnering with us to help meet the following needs :

$500/month needed for our personal support.
$3000 debt needs to be erased before the end of the year from a shortfall in our monthly support over the past six months.
$2500 needed for the construction of the center in Puebla.

Please mail your donations to our home church in Chicago:

La Villita Community Church
2300 S. Millard Ave.
Chicago, IL 60623
(checks made out to LVCC with "Corban clinic" on the memo line.)
Thank you so much for your prayers and continued partnership with us.

for a better world through Jesus Christ,

Dan, Angelica & Jacob
